Hello, Malibu and Topanga Residents!
As we usher in another year filled with sunshine and ocean breezes, it’s important to keep our eyes on the horizon, especially when it comes to vital services like water. Our friends at the Los Angeles County Waterworks District #29 have announced their annual water rate adjustment, and we’re here to guide you through the ripples of change.
Making Waves for Sustainability
The Los Angeles County Waterworks District is not just a provider; they are guardians of our water, ensuring it’s safe, clean, and always at our fingertips. From encouraging water conservation to diligently upgrading our water infrastructure, they are committed to building a sustainable and resilient water system. This year, in line with California Government Code 53756, they are making a splash with an annual water rate adjustment to keep up with the ebb and flow of costs.
What’s in the Current?
Starting January 1, 2024, a gentle tide of change will touch our lives as the average bimonthly water bill experiences a modest increase of up to 4.4%. This brings the new average to $532.28, a small adjustment from the previous $509.85. While this may cause a few ripples of curiosity, it’s essential to remember that these adjustments are the lifeblood of maintaining the high-quality water service we cherish.
